SpotLight can be pretty useless sometimes, but with jailbreak tweaks, we can make SpotLight much more useful. This is especially the case with a new free SpotLight add-on dubbed SmartSearch by iOS developer Guillermo Moran (A.K.A. fr0st).
As shown above, SmartSearch makes it so SpotLight can give you useful answers to your questions. For example, typing in the question, “Who is the United States president?” will yield the answer, “Barrack Obama.” You can also ask several other inquisitive questions that you know SpotLight wouldn't usually be able to answer without the assistance of this jailbreak tweak, and you can usually expect a useful answer.
SmartSearch is a great way to add a query feature to devices that don’t have access to Siri. It’s also great for devices that do have Siri, because in situations where you want to be quiet and not talking to a virtual
You do need an Internet connection to receive smart answers.
SmartSearch doesn't come with any options to configure, just install it and begin asking SpotLight as many questions as you would like. SmartSearch is completely free and if you're interested in giving it a try, you will find it in Cydia's BigBoss repository.
