'Cleary' Lets You Create Clear Events Via Activator

If you’ve never used the Clear application for iOS, then you might be missing out. It allows you to easily start and manage running lists, such as to-do lists, shopping lists, and more. The application is praised for its simple interface and efficient use.

On the other hand, even Clear could be improved, and the jailbreak community has found a way to improve it. With a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed Cleary by iOS developer Julian Weiss, you can use an Activator action to create tasks for Clear quickly andeasily.

After installing the tweak, you can head over to your Activator preferences pane and find an action that you would like to invoke for creating Clear tasks. After you’ve found an action, simply assign it to Cleary:



Now when you invoke the action you choose, you will be able to create tasks for the Clear application. Not too shabby... and you don't even have to be in the Clear application to invoke your Activator action for creating your task. If you would like to give Cleary a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

You will need to have the Clear application installed from the App Store for this tweak to work, otherwise you will get an error message. Clear is a $2.99 download in the App Store; you can grab it from this App Store link.

'CancelUpdate' Allows You to Cancel the Installation of an App Update With the X Button

Application updates come out all the time. It's usually a good idea to read about the update before you install it, but sometimes the all-too-common butterfingers syndrome can cause you to install the update by mistake. After that, you may find something in the application update you don't like, and unless you have a backup of the last version of the application in your iTunes library, there's no going back.

To prevent this, a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed CancelUpdate by iOS developer Plipala is now available that will allow you to easily cancel the installation of an application update by tapping on the ‘X’ button that appears when you put the device into jiggle mode.

Upon tapping on the ‘X’ button, you will get an alert that reminds you that the downloading progress will be lost if you cancel the update. You then get the choice to continue cancelling the update, or letting the update continue.

Notably, you’ll have to be pretty quick to catch the application before it finishes downloading and installing. This will be more difficult on faster Wi-Fi networks when applications are smaller because they download and install rather quickly, but for those larger applications that take a while to download, the tweak doesn’t come off as much of an issue for the user.

CancelUpdate doesn't have any option to configure and you want to give it a try, you will find it in Cydia's BigBoss repository for free. It may just save you some day.

'NCTerminal' Allows You to Run Commands From Notification Center

If you're a Terminal fan, then check this out!

A new Notification Center add-on dubbed NCTerminal by iOS developer uGuer is now available in Cydia that allows you to run terminal commands right from Notification Center.

Shown above, the add-on places a black text box in Notification Center where you will be able to type in your command lines. After inputting them, you can tap on the Done button to run the command. You will get a notification afterwards saying that the command was either an error or a success depending on if you typed it right.

Notably, the NCTerminal interface isn't an input and output interface in one. If you ever want to see the output from a command that you enter, you'll need to use a file browser like iFile and then navigate to /var/mobile/Documents/NCTerminal/NCTerminal.log to see your output:

NCTerminal has no options to configure; you can enable or disable the widget at any time by dragging the wigdet in or out of Notification Center via the Notifications preferences pane in the Settings application. 'BuddyLock' Gives You A New Lock Screen Interface With Tons of Customization Options

Those interested in improving the functionality and appearance of the lock screen should take a look at a new jailbreak tweak available in Cydia now called BuddyLock by iOS developer Jacob Caraballo.

Shown above, BuddyLock lets you configure just about anything on the lock screen. The new unlocking interface looks and behaves almost similarly to JellyLock, but the features are much more extensive and there is a ton of customization that you can take advantage of. This interface consists of a circular icon at the bottom of the lock screen that you can drag anywhere on the lock screen, either to the unlock icon, camera icon, or to any of the customizable application shortcuts.

BuddyLock also gives the user the ability to use sidebars on the lock screen, which are accessed by swiping from the right or from the left of the display. The sidebar can be either for contacts, toggles/shortcuts, or song playlists. You can also disable them outright:



After you install the tweak, you will find a preferences pane in the Settings application where you can play around with the several customization options: 



At the top you will find the ability to enable or disable the tweak on demand, and you’ll also find a cell for theming, but we’ll get back to the extensive theming options later on.

From the main preferences pane, you will also find a cell where you can configure the application shortcuts that appear on the lock screen, an option to enable or disable the folder on the lock screen (you can also configure the applications in the folder), choose what kinds of sidebars you can access on the lock screen, configure Activator actions for the date header, hide or show elements on the lock screen, and enable or disable a feature that allows you to swipe all notifications away.

From the theming cell of the main preferences pane, you will find an extensive list of options where you can configure the appearance of the lock screen’s elements:



Options include changing the appearance, size, opacity, and margins of the circular icon used to unlock the device, enabling or disabling a theme option for the date header where you can choose a color theme, choose an opacity level, and more. You will also be choose a custom font, font color, and font offset for the date and time, and set an opacity level and margin amount for the camera and unlock icon and other application icons.

BuddyLock is a very feature-filled jailbreak tweak that focuses on those liking to have absolute power and control over what things look like. With all of the options the tweak gives you, any creative mind can make one heck of a cool-looking lock screen that no one else has.

The tweak is compatible with both iOS 5 and iOS 6 and can be had for just 99¢ in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

'BMarks Bar - Chrome' Adds a Customizable Bookmarks Bar to Google Chrome for iOS

Google Chrome for iOS turned out to be a very popular Web browser for iOS users, and Google continues to bring great updates to it adding new features. On the other hand, perhaps not enough features.

The jailbreak community has come up with another fancy add-on for the iOS version of Google Chrome. Dubbed BMarks Bar – Chromeby iOS developer William V., this new jailbreak tweak adds a bookmarks bar to the top of the application under the URL unibar, as shown above.

The bookmarks bar will show Web sites that you have saved as bookmarks, and you will see the name of the site, as well as an icon for the site. At the far right, you will see a folder for other bookmarks that aren’t listed in the bookmarks bar. You can tap on the folder to expand it and see more bookmarks. Tapping on bookmarks on the bookmarks bar will open the respective Web sites.

BMarks Bar - Chrome has a preferences pane that is located in the Settings application where you can configure the bar's appearance in the Google Chrome application:



You will be able to configure options such as the bar height and bookmark width, the text size, folder width and height, icon size, and more. You will also be able to choose if the other bookmarks folder shows or hides, as well as enable or disable panning to select bookmarks.

BMarks Bar - Chrome is a nice add-on for Google Chrome lovers because it offers quicker desktop-like access to your bookmarks right on your iOS device.

'Stopwatch Pro' Adds Lap Saving Functionality to the iOS Stopwatch

Apple’s Clock application includes a stopwatch, but it is lacking a very important feature: the ability to save stopwatch times.

A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Stopwatch Pro by iOS developer Jailpod makes it so you can actually save times that you record in the stopwatch. As shown above, the tweak adds a new Save button to the stopwatch interface. Tapping the button will log the times involved to the new Saved tab you see at the bottom of the application.

Moving to the Saved tab, you will be able to see all of the logged times you have saved. They are dated so you can keep track of when the times were recorded. When empty, the log will say, "No Saved Times;" however, if there are saved time sections, you will see them. You can tap on the time sections to see the individual laps:



You can delete any times that you save by swiping on them to reveal a delete button, or you can tap on the Edit button at the top of the application to bring up a deletion interface.

In the event that you want to create a new section, Stopwatch Pro supports that too. By tapping on the Add button in the editing interface, you will be able to input a new name for a new section that you can use to organize your times:



Stopwatch Pro doesn't have any options to configure. Anyone that takes advantage of Apple's built-in iOS stopwatch should grab this tweak for the added functionality, as it never hurts to be able to keep a record of your recorded stopwatch times. 'Sleep2EndCall for CallBar' Lets You End Calls With the Power Button Instead of a Swipe

Chances are many of you are fans of CallBar, an alternative calling interface for iOS that offers banner notifications and a less obtrusive in-call interface for multitasking. If so, then you're familiar with its controls, such as swiping left on the CallBar bar to end a phone call.

Alternatively, if you want a different method to end a call without even having to look at the display to do so, you can install a new CallBar add-on called Sleep2EndCall for CallBar by iOS developer Ron Thakrar.

As the name suggests, the add-on will allow you to press the sleep button at the top of the iOS device when in the middle of a call with CallBar to end the call rather than swiping left on the CallBar bar. 

It’s arguable that both methods take around the same amount of time, but by using the sleep button instead of using a touch screen gesture, you can actually end a call while the iPhone is still against your face rather than pulling the phone away from your face for the display to un-dim, and then performing the swipe gesture. 

Although time isn't much of a high point for this add-on, it's still nice to have the option to choose between a hardware button or a swipe gesture on the display. 

The tweak will only work if you have CallBar installed – it is a separate purchase of $3.99. If you want to download Sleep3EndCall for CallBar, it's available at no cost in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

'VineDownloader' Lets You Save Videos From Your Vine Feed to Your Camera Roll

Twitter launched Vine, a video-sharing social network, back in January. The application has become very popular and continues to gain traction among users.

A new jailbreak tweak dubbed VineDownloader by iOS developer Stevie Hetelekides now gives users the ability to download any video that they see in their Vine news feed. Shown above, the user can tap on the three-dot ellipsis at the bottom of a post to bring up a new Save videobutton. 

Upon tapping on the button, the video will begin to download to the user’s Camera Roll. After finished, the user will get an alert that acknowledges the download and tells the user that the download has finished successfully. The saving process is very smooth and quick.

Afterwards, the user will find the video that they download in their Camera Roll among all the rest of the user's photos and videos:



The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where the user can enable and disable the tweak on demand; however, the tweak has no other options to configure. To use the tweak, you will need to have the Vine application from the App Store installed on your iOS device; the tweak will not install the application for you. If you would like to give VineDownloader a try, it is available on Cydia's BigBoss repository for just 99¢.
